Morehouse Logistics, Inc. 4010 Dahlman Ave Omaha, NE 68107-1562 800-228-9378 Feb 5, 2009 To all of our valued customers: Ninety-nine percent of our customers accept scanned paper documentation. There is a small percent, however, that refuse to accept scanned paper documentation. We've asked most of these customers why they still require originals and most answer "That's the way we've always done it," or "Our customers require them." We have good news! The Electronic Signatures In Global And National Commerce Act was enacted June 30, 2000. This Federal law provides that "a signature, contract, or other record ... may not be denied legal effect, validity, or enforceability solely because it is in electronic form...". Based on this law, we have chosen to no longer provide original paper documentation. If you have any questions about our authority to institute this policy, please refer them to your corporate attorney. A copy of The Electronic Signatures In Global And National Commerce Act is available at the link below. Please feel free to share this information with your own customers so they, too, will be cured of the common misconception that they "need" or even have the "right" to demand original paperwork.
